Ferrari 599XX Up for Grabs in France

Ferrari’s XX lines of cars that mean business started out with the awesome FXX and FXX Evolution, both based on the Enzo platform and pushing out an impressive 850 horsepower. The second was the 599XX, based on the 599 GTB Fiorano platform, and it was only offered to a very select group of customers, known as Ferrari client test drivers.

Despite this exclusivity, over the past few years, a few XXs have ended up on sale. This latest example is a pristine 599XX with just 1500 km (932 miles) on the clock an a cool price tag: €1,315,600 ($1,940,000).

Ferrari's engineers have carried out extensive work on the engine's combustion chambers and inlet and exhaust tracts. These modifications, combined with the fact that internal attrition has been reduced and the maximum revs have been boosted to 9,000 rpm, helped achieve the target power output of 700 hp at 9,000 rpm. Particular attention was also paid to cutting the weight of the engine unit components.

All that power helps a lot when you want to thrash it around the famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany in just 6 minutes 58.16 seconds.
