Mazda Planned Opening Factory in Mexico, The Company's Sales in Brazil

Mazda car from Japan will open vehicle production facilities in Mexico and a sales company in Brazil, in alliance with Sumitomo Corporation.

Mazda car production facility in Mexico will be established as a manufacturing hub for compact vehicles, especially Central and South America, and will include vehicle and engine assembly plant.

The plant will be located in the city of Salamanca, Guanajuato state, 250 kilometers northwest of Mexico City. Production here is expected to begin around 2013, with an annual production capacity of 140,000 units. The facility will produce Mazda2 (Mazda Demio in Japan) and (Mazda Axela in Japan) Mazda3 models.

Brazilian sales of the company will begin operating in 2012, and will initially sell the vehicles imported from Japan. When the Mexican facility becomes operational, it will also sell the vehicle shipped from Mexico.

Since Mazda car entered the Mexican market in October 2005, our sales results have steadily improved, and in 2010 we set a new record for both sales volume and market share.
