BMW and Daimler Join Developing Electric Car


MUNICH - The two largest German carmaker, BMW and Daimler AG, recently it has been cooperating to develop an electric car future. Cooperation include the development and design of the machine.

BMW and Daimler did not release an electric car, but each are equally created the technology and electric cars with different brands and models. In developing electric cars, BMW and Mercedes-Benz is no doubt. For BMW i3city car expected launch in early 2013.


The plan, developed an electric car will be designed like a small hatchback car that weighs only 880 pounds without batteries and electric motors equipped with 20 horsepower. Thus was launched Inautonews, Monday (07/05/2012).

Germany's Federal Ministry for Education and Research has disbursed 10.8 million euros and BMW was appointed as the leader in this program. The program also included 15 private companies and public associations across the country.
