McLaren F1 Successor 'Mega Mac' to Arrive in 2014

According to a recent article from AutoCar, McLaren car is already working on such a game-changer, and it won’t just be a tickled version of the MP4-12C, but an all-new model that’s expected to debut in 2014. The project is know internally as the Mega Mac and it is rumored to be limited to 500 units, with a price tag between £350,000 and £400,000 in the UK, a bargain compared to Bugatti car or Koenigsegg’s latest offerings.

Don’t expect any of those silly million-horsepower figures we’ve grown accustomed to, as the Mega Mac will offer about 800 hp from its 5.0-liter V8 engine that is being developed in conjunction with Ricardo and will be coupled to the obligatory Graziano seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

This new car will feature active-aerodynamics to keep it hugging the ground at speed, because it will be really fast. Insiders suggest a 0-60 mph (98 km/h) time of 2.8 seconds. Insiders have also suggested that the 100 mph (161 km/h) barrier will be smashed in 5.5 seconds, and 200 mph (322 km/h) in just 20 seconds. Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes will be standard, as will Brake Steer and electronic brake force distribution, so the speed will drop even faster then it increases.
