Lexus CT 300h Might Arrive With Extra Bang Under the Bonnet

Most people who drive it will agree that, with its hybrid drivetrain and focused chassis, the new CT 200h that we recently tested is an interesting but controversial car. The suspension is sporty, encouraging you to drive it harder but the power you want isn’t really there.

Die-hard Lexus fans may have something to look forward to, as another hybrid wearing a similar badge, the CT 300h, might arrive next, bringing more horsepower.

According to The Age, the fact that the CT 300h and CT 400h names have already been registered could mean the 200 will get some new brothers and sisters.

The news comes via Lexus Australia’s Chief Executive, Tony Cramb, who also added that ''new arrivals are going to play a big part to push towards record Lexus sales. 'More and more we'll have access to right-hand-drive engineering from such as India and opportunities for us will be greater.''

The CT 200h has had a very successful launch, especially in Europe, so the addition of bigger engines or more members to the CT family make a lot of sense, especially seeing as the lack of power is the only major complaint with the car that has such a high level of finish for the segment.

"Specifically designed and developed with the European market , the new Lexus CT 200h's size, packaging full hybrid technology and ultra-low emissions perfectly meet the requirements of a young, highly discerning, environmentally conscientious customer base,” Lexus say about the CT 200h.
