Aston Martin V12 Zagato Makes Its Engine Heard

The “Concept Cars and Prototypes”, the Aston Martin V12 Zagato was caught on film by a couple of YouTube users. In the videos below this article you can hear the engine revving its heart out.

There will be two versions of the supermodel: a road car that appeared at Villa d’Este and a track version that will see action at the four hour VLN race at Nurburgring on on May 28th, and at the 24-hour Nurburgring race on June 25th, 2011.

Using the same powerplant as the V12 Vantage, not much has been done to the 6.0-litre V12 engine, which produces 517 horsepower and 420 lb ft (570 Nm) of torque. However, weight reduction measures make it faster than the roadgoing version, and thus should sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (96 mph) in under 4 seconds.

The endurance racing versions of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato will be fitted with full rollcage, a larger 120-litre fuel tank, uprated six-piston brakes and fully adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers.

The car's design inspiration from older classics such as the DB4GT Zagato, V8 Vantage Zagato and DB7 Zagato. A V12 Vantage supercar rebodied by the famous Italian coachbuilder, this coachbuilt car comes with a handcrafted aluminium body sporting numerous Zagato design.
